When you’re planning to do a 15 second TVC for a client of yours, time is truly of essence here. Careful planning and attention to detail will save you time and possibly some money too.
The best way to execute a project like this is to start with a proper storyboard. But in our case we did not need one because our concept and idea was from a magazine ad. We just needed a perfectly timed script.
When the script was approved, we went straight into VO. The recording and duration of our Voiceovers(VO) are essential for this kind of short duration TVC’s because it will govern the overall timing of the video.
While the script and vo was being done and approved. We were working on animation elements, example: Head and Mouth, Car Body Parts, Backgrounds.

Then came the daunting tasks of animating the talking characters. We imported all the separate elements into After Effects and used the final VO as a guide to animate the talking heads. The rest was easy.

The job was completed from start to finish in just 10 working days. Yes working with short durations may feel a little restricting but with a good script and planning, the job will sail smoothly.
